How Do People Respond to The Herald Sun Article
about Cheap Cigarettes Australian Store?

Well, that's great! But where is the website? If I can save $35.00 a week by
buying cigarettes at half price, I don't have a problem with it at all. Every
smoker knows that they are being ripped off openly by both Federal and State
governments under the pretext that they want to save our life. Well, we don't
want to be save. If I could save $1820 a year by buying cigarettes at half
price, that money would be more than enough to give me the best private
medical cover in Australia.

Smokers should continue to be ripped off by the taxes.

Haha, you are so funny, AO! The website says they are not taking any
orders for the next few days due to an over abundance of people placing orders
due to thge above article.

On the subject of smoking, its a personal choice which does affect
others. We've got enough knowledge & education to know what it's doing to our
bodies, but I don't personally have anything against smokers, most of the time
they do the right thing and take it outside away from children which is a
step.

But then again it is a $150 fine for smoking within a certain distance
of a building and only $55 for putting lives in danger by parking on or
blocking the footpath.

Cigarettes sold duty free are half price. The point I was making was
that if we could buy cigarettes at half price and use the money we save for
private medical insurance, it would not cost the tax payer anything if we
became sick. If you happen to know a doctor or nurse working in the hospital
system, ask them how much of the tax we pay on cigarettes goes towards the
hospital. It is about 5 per cent I have been told. The rest goes in general
revenue. There is a massive 80 per cent tax on cigarettes. I am always accused
to generalise on this forum. But when it comes to smoking and speeding, that
is exactly what the government does. Not only that, but it spend million on
propaganda to brainwash people into believing everything it says. If speed was
killing, everyone on the planet would be dead by now. If smoking was killing,
every smoker over 40 would be dead. 15 years ago, the government actually went
as far as saying that the life expectancy of a smoker was 42. Half of the
smokers are older than that. The last two generations have been brought up
with that propaganda and they don't know any better. I don't expect anyone to
believe me for a second after most of you have been brainwash for 20 years. I
am not saying that you should take up smoking, far from it. But if you do, it
is more likely to send you broke than to kill you. The only reason that you
cannot smoke in the work place or anywhere else is because every business has
been told that they are wide open to a law suit from a non-smoker if that
person can prove that they got sick from secondary smoke. Considering the
number of asthmatics in this country, those people would have a field day
suing everyone on sight and sending every business broke. This website selling
cigarettes at half price might just be the very first step in the long overdue
fight back from smokers. And I will join them because I want to reclaim the
freedom which was stolen from me 20 years ago. People simply don't think. The
exhaust fumes from the traffic are far worse than any cigarette. Not only we
drive in it, but we live in it and breathe it 24 hours a day in a city like
Sydney. Diesel fumes are 5 times worse than petrol fumes. But does the
government tell you that? No way! All the buses and all the trucks are running
on diesel, spurting beautiful black smoke in the air. And a lot of those 4x4
picking up kids from school also run on diesel. I just don't like people
kidding me. Smokers are just an easy target for a greedy government. There are
3 things in this life which are an addiction. Cigarettes, alcohol and the car.
And those are the 3 things that the government tax to the hilt because it
knows that most people cannot live without at least 2 of the 3. And most
smokers needs the 3.

Have never smoked and never will. What a waste of money. Work out what
you spend in cigarettes for the year and you could afford some luxury instead.
Wouldn't you rather a holiday, new clothes, or just something that you have
always wanted, this seems more logical to me.

Sadly there is nothing logical about smoking. Nor is there anything
logical about drinking. People just do it to escape reality. It is the only
thing which relax them enough to be happy. Take it away and they become angry
with the whole world. You might as well make the same argument to a heroin
addict. Or even those teenagers who spend $100 every weekend for two ecstasy
tablets.

I might be weak, but at least I am not boring! Smokers are not telling
non-smokers how to live their life. So, who the heck gave a licence to
non-smokers to judge and tell smokers how they should live their life? Mind
your own business! I would also like to point out that this topic was an
annoncement for the benefit of smokers. Not a topic for bashing up smokers.
The same goes with politicians. They are telling smokers what they can do and
not do. Now, I would like to ask the question... Since when politicians own
the citizens of a country to the point that they can tell them how to live
their life? I always thought that politicians were merely employees working
for the people of the country. It now seem that the people are becoming the
slaves of politicians. What's the matter with you people? Wake up!
